New Student Registration: Fall 2026

Aloha & mahalo for your interest in registering for Polynesian dance classes at Hālau Makana. Please read through the following information before proceeding.

Classes are for in-person students only. We are not offering virtual classes at this time.

IMPORTANT DATES

• Early registration period: July 26 - August 8, 2026

  • No classes will be held during this time.

• Late registration period: August 10 - August 15, 2026

  • This is also the first week of class.

• Last day to register for the fall semester: August 15, 2026 11:59pm PST

CLASSES OPEN TO NEW STUDENTS

New students, irrespective of experience, will start in the beginners' classes. We will observe and determine from there if they should move up to our advanced classes. Additionally, we will host auditions at the end of every session/semester for those interested in joining advanced classes.

• Beginner Keiki Hula: Wednesday 5pm

• Beginner Adult Hula: Monday 7pm

• Beginner Tamari’i ‘Ori: Wednesday 4pm

• Beginner Adult ‘Ori: Wednesday 6pm

PRICING

Monthly Tuition

• For Harbor Bay Club Members

  • 1 weekly class: $70

  • 2 weekly classes: $130

• For non-members

  • 1 weekly class: $80

  • 2 weekly classes: $150

One-Time Fees

• Hula class pa'u: $60-70

• 'Ori Tahiti class pāreu: $15

Prices are per student. Students who have taken a free trial class will have their tuition prorated accordingly. Alumni students will receive alumni prices. Alumni prices will be determined by Makana after you've submitted your registration form.

'ORI TAHITI SOLO TRAINING

This class meets every Saturday from 12pm to 12:50pm. This class is completely separate from our regular weekly classes. Our regular weekly classes are tuition-based, whereas this class in drop-in based. Students can drop-in to this class at any point during the semester.
